A world where the Zombie Apocalypse is real. The cause is unknown and any investigation usually ends badly. Hordes move like a herd of buffalo, if buffalo hunted for humans. The worst part is that even the hordes aren’t the worst. Scavengers and Z-cults move about praying on survivors and leaving them to die. The only safe place is Panacea, a mobile camp that offers safe harbor to anyone, as long as they submit to full medical examination and leave their weapons with security. the world is roughly the size of north america but the locals believe they are on...

Yigdraxalandrevna the All-Mother is a recursion within the body of a dead goddess of unknown origin. Her body washed up on the shoals of earth at an indeterminite time. Although she is inert, you can never truly destroy a god. Her body lives on and inside of it flourishes a culture of creatures composed of her internal antibodies and microbes. They reside in the city of Yig-Revna which is a bone-and-tissue effigy to her mighty presence. The primary inhabitants of the All-Mother are the Podchildren, who exist solely to maintain her internal organs, reviving dead tissue and replacing what cannot be healed. They are short creatures with an biometallic skin. They resemble human children and can be of several colors depending on their function. Red – Blood Cell White – Antibodies Blue – Tissue Repair Yellow – Infectors (Hostile) Black – Necrotic (Hostile) Several satellite outposts exist in key locations to protect and heal the All-Mother’s vital organs. The Reproduction Fields are the home of the Podchildren, there new Podlings are born and old Podlings go to die. The Caverns of Life serve as the hearts of the All-Mother. The Wailing Hive is her lungs while the Feeding Grounds serve as her stomach and the Void exists as a place to sent refuse, this area contains a direct connection to The Strange. Little is know about the true origin of the All-Mother but there is speculation that is an ancient cousin to Planetovores. Evidence exists that may link her lifetime to the beginnings of the strange but nothing substantial has been determined at this time. The...

The American Revolution was a tumultuous time in history. The events leading up to the “shot heard round the world” have grown in the telling, becoming almost mythic in their own right. Liberty and Death is a fictional bleed of the decade prior to the revolt against British rule combined with gothic horror. The recursion consists of Warren county, a fictional county in the Massachusetts colony. A forboding forest named The Briarwood covers most of the recursion. Areas of civilization have been laboriously carved from the wilderness, but the inhabitants must constantly work to keep their roads and fields cleared since the forest tries to reclaim the land quickly. InspirationThe following authors works helped shape and inspire this recursion. I encourage you to give them a read. Cooper, James Fenimore: The Leatherstocking series of novels. Finlay, C. C.: The Traitor to the Crown series of novels. Irving, Washington: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (and especially Tim Burton’s theatrical version of the tale Sleepy Hollow). Jackson, D. B.: The Thieftaker series of novels and short stories. Lavallee, Ed & Bond, Grant: The graphic novel Revere: Revolution in Silver Shelly, Mary: Frankenstein; Or the Modern Prometheus Stoker, Bram: Dracula Additional Foci Duels Hunts Monsters Robs Travelers Black Powder WeaponsMuzzle-loading, black powder weapons are the only common firearms in this recursion. Most are smoothbore weapons. They require one round to reload, so you may only fire a musket every other turn. Rifles are available and while more accurate, they are more difficult to reload, requiring two rounds. The following weapons are available to characters in this recursion: Pocket Pistol: Light weapon, maximum range...

The Salem Witchcraft Trials were a dark time in the early history of the United States. The deep feelings of paranoia, fear, and treachery were strong enough that it invested itself upon The Strange. Without anyone to foster it, the recursion grew. Today the recursion consists of the town of Salem, as well as some of the surrounding wilderness. By day, the citizens of the town go about their business, ever wary of Witches that may be lurking nearby. But at night, all citizens lock themselves up within their houses, for fear of things that prowl the dark. The witches themselves are real, and have dark monstrosities in their employ. The majority of witches are awakened, and seek to find the means to either leave the recursion, or to bring in artifacts powerful enough to grant them complete dominion over it. Witches-on entering the recursion, a recursors choice of foci determines their race. If the foci only relies on standard physics, they come into the recursion as a human. However if their foci requires Magic, they are branded a Witch upon entering. Somewhere on their body will be a strange birthmark, signifying their difference according to the beliefs of the townsfolk. However, just because a recursor is not a witch will not protect them from being accused of being a...
