Bears the Taint of Undeath

Draggable: No
Recursions: Gloaming, Custom Liberty and Death
Recommended Laws: Magic
Connection: If this is your starting focus, choose one of the following connections.
1: Pick one other PC. He suspects you of being a vampire and cannot fathom how you can walk abroad in daylight.
2: Pick one other PC. A vampire slew someone close to her. She hungers for revenge and you have not revealed that you suspect your father was the murderer.
3: Pick one other PC. He found you terribly wounded and allowed you to drink some of his blood to help you recover.
4: Pick one other PC. He is fascinated by your condition and spends much of his free time researching a “cure”.
Equipment: Fine clothing, glasses with tinted lenses and a stout walking stick (light weapon), medium weapon.
Minor Effect Suggestion: Your preternatural grace gives you a +1 bonus to defense next round.
Major Effect Suggestion: Your eyes flash with vampiric fury causing any mortal opponent to flee in fright for its next two actions.

Your mother never spoke much of your father. She was young and naïve. He seduced her and she succumbed. Nine months later you were born. But you are no ordinary child born out of wedlock, for your father was a vampire making you a most rare creature: a dhampir. While you are mortal and have nothing to fear from holy symbols or the light of the sun, you do have a foot in your father’s world and are slowly discovering how to master your talents. Your unruly raven tresses, slightly pointed ears and unnatural grace mark you as something different, so watch your step. Few men understand the distinction between your kind and the living dead.

Tier 1: Blood Drinker. You may bite an opponent in combat (treat as a light weapon). If your victim is human (or humanoid in some recursions) you may drink its blood, healing yourself 1 point of damage for every 2 inflicted. Enabler.

Night Vision. You can see in extremely dim light as if it were bright light. You can see in total darkness as if it were extremely dim. Enabler.

Calling of the Grave. You are trained in vampire lore. Enabler.

Tier 2: Blood Frenzy (2 Might points). Your lust for blood turns you into a killing machine. You gain +1 to your Might and Speed edge for 10 minutes. Enabler.

Tier 3: Allure of the Night. You are trained in seduction.

Resist Compulsion. You are trained in Intellect defense.

Sense Undead (2 Intellect points). You can scan an area out to short range for the presence of undead. The scan will reveal the number and level of any undead in the area. A wall more than 5 feet thick will block your scan. A vampire is notoriously difficult to detect and you must roll higher than its level to discover its true nature. Action to initiate.

Tier 4: Fear the Dark. You are trained in intimidation. Enabler.

Transfixing Gaze (4 Intellect points). You may fix your gaze upon a mortal creature within short range and prevent it from taking any action if you overcome its level with an Intellect attack. You may compel the creature to move towards you at its normal movement rate if you desire, but you cannot force it to take any other actions. If the creature is attacked, or if its level is greater than your tier you must make another Intellect attack to keep it transfixed. Action to initiate.

Tier 5: Dark Vision. You can act in total darkness with no penalty. Enabler.

What Big Teeth You Have. Your bite now does 4 points of damage. Enabler.

Tier 6: Blood Rage (4 Might points). You gain +3 to your Might and Speed edge for 10 minutes. You may not stack these benefits with Blood Frenzy. Enabler.

Undead Constitution. You gain +6 to your Might pool. Enabler.
